Osun Election: Police hold security sensitization Seminar 

The Inspector -General of Police (IGP), Mr. Ibrahim Idris, has invited major stakeholders to a one-day seminar on August 30, at the state capital, Osogbo.

The seminar is aimed at creating awareness and to make sure that there is a free and fair election in the state.

 

 

According to the IGP’s Principal Staff Officer in Lagos, ACP Bode Ojajuni, the theme of the seminar which will be declared open by the state governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, in Osogbo, is: ‘The Imperativeness of Police Collaboration with Essential Stakeholders: Towards Secured, Free and Credible Elections in Nigeria’.

“It is meant to kick-start numerous security enlightenment programmes lined up to sensitize and enlist the support of essential stakeholders towards securing 2019 General elections,” Ojajuni stated.

 

 

 

The Vice-Chancellor, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Prof Eyitope Ogunbodede will be the Chairman/Moderator at the event; Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Royal Father of the Day, and other notable guests including the National Chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, officials of all the political parties, sister security agencies, interest groups and opinion leaders.

 

 

Foreign missions including the United States, Britain, African Union, European Union, local and foreign election observers are equally participating.
