Pinnick tips Yobo for future Super Eagles coaching role

The President of Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick has tipped Joseph Yobo to follow the footstep late Stephen Keshi to coach the Super Eagles in the nearest future.

Yobo was appointed as the successor to Imama Amapakabo who has left his role as the assistant coach to Gernot Rohr following the expiration of his contract.

Pinnick said he hopes the former Everton defender can learn his trade the guidance of the Franco-German tactician and probably succeed him.

Pinnick sighted Keshi as the great example who also captained the Super Eagles, won the African Cup of Nations as a player, and also as a coach.

“We are looking up to Yobo to manage the Super Eagles in the future and being part of the team’s technical crew will give him that opportunity to coach the Super Eagles in the nearest future.”

“The late Stephen Keshi was also an exceptional leader when he was the captain of the Super Eagles. He later grew in the coaching job to handle the Super Eagles. Yobo needs to be encouraged”. He said.

Yobo made 101 appearances for the Super Eagles, played at three FIFA World Cup, and captained the Super Eagles to the 2013 African cup of Nations in South Africa.
