Coach of Nigeria’s senior national team Gernot Rohr has revealed that qualifying matches for the 2022 world cup is what is next in focus for him with a bright start already into the 2021 AFCON qualifiers.
Rohr speaking in a chat gathered by brila.net said the 2022 world cup qualifiers are next up for the team who won’t be back playing the AFCON qualifiers until 2020 August for continuation of the AFCON 2021 qualifiers.
He added that he hopes to see the players continue to be in top shape when the world cup qualifiers comes around in March.
“The next matches of the AFCON qualifiers will be in August 2020 long time so the next challenges are the FIFA qualifiers for the next world cup which is in March next year so we have to prepare for that and hope that everybody will be fit.
Now there is really a good competition for the starting positions which is very good for the level of the team.”
