Roman Abramovich hands Frank Lampard £150m for January transfers

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is ready to hand Frank Lampard cash to spend in the January transfer window, as they look to bolster their squad for the second half of the season.

The Blues were informed today that their appeal to the Court of Arbitration of Sport was successful meaning they’re now free to sign players.

The Russian is keen to make up for lost time, by handing Lampard a considerable budget to improve his side.

According to the Express, the Chelsea boss will be given £150million to spend in January.

The figure will allow Lampard to chase top targets, which have been mapped out in extensive plans behind the scenes while the ban has been in place.

The report claims that their top target is Ben Chilwell, who has developed a reputation as one of the best left-backs in the division with Leicester.

He is seen as the ideal long-term replacement for Marcos Alonso, who is slowly falling out of favour at Stamford Bridge.

Chilwell’s current deal at the King Power Stadium is set to run until 2024.

The England international is not the only target that has emerged though.

Lampard is reportedly eyeing a deal to bring Nathan Ake back to Stamford Bridge.
