Saka shines in Arsenal’s Carabao Cup defeat to Liverpool

Bukayo Saka played all 90 minutes in Arsenal’s defeat to Liverpool in Carabao Cup clash at Anfield on Wednesday.

 

Arsenal’s manager Unai Emery made whole lot from the defeat that drew 2-2 with Crystal Palace at the Emirates on Sunday, with Saka and Brazilian youngster Martinelli leading the line for the Gunners.

 

Bad and inexperience display allowed for a flood of goals as both side ended the game with 5 goals apiece.

 

Gabriel Martinelli (brace) Joe Willock, Lucas Torreira and Maitland-Niles got Arsenal’s goals ,while Divork Origi (brace) , James Milner ( pen), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Shkodran Mustafi’s own goal completed the Liverpool’s five goals.

 

 

The game went into penalties and Both sides scored their opening three penalties in the shootout before Arsenal substitute Dani Ceballos saw his effort kept out by Caoimhin Kelleher, and after Origi had once more held his nerve to preserve the advantage, Jones showed immense composure to send his side into the last eight.

 

Saka played the entire duration of game and had hand in Arsenal’s first goal, when Liverpool’s goalkeeper tipped his low shot on to the path of Martinelli who scored from close range.

 

Saka later set up the young Brazilian for his brace shortly before the half time.
