SAL 2019: Akaraiwe staying grounded despite Nigeria’s perfect run in Cape Verde

D’Tigress 3×3 star Nkem Akaraiwe says they aren’t writing off any opponent despite a perfect start of back to back wins in the African Beach Games.

Nigeria brushed aside Djibouti and Algeria 21-0 and 18-7 respectively on Thursday, but are placed third in Pool B.

‘We aren’t counting out any team despite how well we’ve started,’ Akaraiwe told brila.net.

‘of course we want to get as far as the final and win, but we have to stay grounded and take every game as they come.

‘There are some good teams in the competition and we are just as determined to take on any side.’

The Chris Acha-tutored side next face group leaders Togo on Friday at the Arena 3, Santa Maria Beach Park.
