Salisu Yusuf happy to lead Rangers after a year out of the game

Salisu Yusuf says he hope to take Rangers international of Enugu to the next level and admitted something has to change about the Club.

Rangers are experiencing a difficulty winning matches in the Nigeria Professional Football League this season which led to the dismissal of Benedict Ugwu and the rest of his technical crew.

Having served a year ban for bribery allegations, Salisu Yusuf was appointed by the NFF to help the team ahead of their Confederation Cup clash with Pyramids of Egypt.

“I am here on a technical assistance from the federation as Rangers is representing the country in continental club football,” said Yusuf.

“We hope to take the team to the next level from where they are now and it is not going to be easy.

“We need to change some things but is going to be a gradual process.”

After his first game against visiting Egyptian side Pyramids on Sunday, Salisu Yusuf will also lead the Fyling Antelopes out against  Mauritania’s Nouadhibou and another Egyptian side Al Masry, in the continental tournament.

Yusuf will have the chance to rebuild his own dented reputation after serving a one year ban for taking cash from men posing as football agents.
