Sports Minister Dare Commiserate With Osimhen Over Dad’s Demise

Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare has commiserated with Super Eagles and Lille forward Victor Osimhen over the passing of his father.

 

Osimhen announced the passing of his father, Mr. Patrick Osimhen on his social media handle on Saturday.

 

The 80-year-old man reportedly passed away in Lagos on Saturday after a brief illness.

 

The Minister who revealed he spoke with Osimhen on Sunday, also took to his social media handle to show his support for the young lad.

 

“Our hearts go out to Victor Osimhen @victorosimhen9 Nigerian national player and Lille forward over the loss of his father. I have spoken with him on the phone today to offer my condolences”,

 

“May his soul rest in peace. Please take heart, God gives and takes when he pleases. Our prayers and thoughts are with you during this tough time.” he said in a tweet.

 

The 21-year-old striker who scored 18 goals for Lille in all competitions this season is expected to be back in the country after his club offered a private jet to bring him to Nigeria.
