Sunshine Stars can’t stop dreaming of a Playoff Spot – Dogo

A defiant Kabiru Dogo has fired a notice of Sunshine Stars’ ambition this season with five league games left to play and a 2-1 win over Wikki Tourist was all the motivation he needed.

Sunshine Stars hosted Wikki on Sunday in a Match Day 17 fixture at the Akure Township Stadium, and the got off the block early.

A double inside the opening 28 minutes helped the hosts settle in well and controlled the game as they chased a fifth home win of the season.

Even when the visitors netted in added time of the first half, Dogo remained unfazed.

The Coach who has been under pressure following his side’s inconsistent form continues to insist they are looking up and not down towards just survival in the league.

Dogo is confident Sunshine Stars can win enough points to catch up with the top three – although his team is sixth in the table just four points behind third-placed MFM FC.

“The league is still on, there are still five matches to go and anything can still happen,” He told brila.net.

“As far as Sunshine is concerned and as far I’m concerned as a Coach; every Coach always has the ambition of being a champion, as far as we’re concerned the league has not been handed to anybody; the ticket for the super 6.

“And the ticket for relegation has not been given to anybody and I believe there is still a clear chance of surviving and also a clear chance of contention to be among the best three.”

“We’re looking forward to the Super 6 and any team eyeing the top can’t be bothered about relegation; the super 6 ticket is what we want.”
