Super Eagles goalkeeping problems almost over – Babayaro

An erstwhile Super Eagles goalie, Emmanuel Babayaro, has praised the display of Francis Uzoho and Maduka Okoye following Nigeria’s 1-1 draw with Brazil in an international friendly in Singapore on Sunday.

Uzoho was having a good game until the 62 minutes when he twisted his leg after going for the ball from the Brazilian corner.

However, he was stretched off and replaced by Okoye who also put a commendable performance between the sticks.

Babayaro was full of praise for both keepers saying Uzoho was having a good game before the injury  and that his replacement also put in a good shift.

”Uzoho showed excellent agility in cutting out the occasional threats posed by the Brazilians and was also alert to foil several goal-bound attempts.

”It was indeed a shame that he had to leave the scene after twisting his leg as he went for the ball from a Brazil corner kick. I wish him quick recovery.

”His replacement Okoye, also put in a good shift and was not much troubled as he showed calmness in between the sticks for the Eagles.

”I think with what I have seen today, I can confidently say our goalkeeping problems have been almost, if not completely, taken care of.”
