This Title will forever remain in my heart – Barakat Quadri

Tennis Teen sensation Barakat Quadri says winning the oldest national tournament has “been on of my dreams growing up”, and doing it as an 16 year-old is a double celebration.

Barakat defeated former Nigeria number one Christie Agugbom in straight sets (6-1, 6-0) to join the list of champions of the tournament.

The victory is significant for the youngster as the same platform has propelled past winners to reaching greater heights and Barakat believes the win will spur her on to bigger wins.

“Well for me personally, this title means a lot for me. It has always been one of my dreams; growing up and I am happy I was able to achieve it this early.

“But at the same time it is time for me to move on to other things on my goal list.

“The title will forever remain in my heart. My name forever engraved among the prestigious past winners of this tournament is also a big honor to me,” she told brila.net
