Victor Moses passes the Torch to Hudson-Odoi

Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson Odoi is a reminder of the bundle of amazing talent Victor Moses started off as from Palace and Wigan to his best days at Chelsea, but it seems he has passed on the torch.

Moses was a noticeable absentee from Chelsea’s match day squad against PAOK Salonika in their UEFA Europa League match on Thursday night at the Bridge.

While some pondered on how difficult life at the Bridge has become for the 27-year-old, the prospect of Hudson-Odoi becoming the long-term successor to the Nigeria brings a little respite to Blues downside the Atlantic.

The youngster, who is the son of Ghanaian parents his father Bismark Odoi was a former midfielder with the historic Accra Hearts of Oak, stole the show at the Bridge.

His first senior goal and an assist saw him post a 9.6 rating, per Whoscored.com as Chelsea wrapped up an emphatic 4-0 victory; the club’s biggest win under Manager Maurizio Sarri in the Europa League.

He tweeted after:

A dream come true, buzzing to get my first goal and assist for the team I’ve been playing for from the age of 8 years old, hopefully many more opportunities to come

Meanwhile, January might bring new things for the Nigerian who has fallen further down the pecking order behind Hazard, Willian, Pedro and now Hudson-Odoi in Sarri’s scheme of things.
