Enugu Rangers forward, Kevin Itoya has cried out for more support for the Flying Antelopes ahead of their CAF Confederations Cup second leg battle against Ethiopian side Defence Force SC in December.
Rangers needed two penalties from Godwin Aguda to get their continental adventure into a flying start at home on Tuesday but the Olugbenga Ogunbote led team needs to avoid a defeat by three goals margin in the return leg to advance to the next stage of CAF second elite football competition.
While speaking after the win, Itoya described the game as a tough one and asked Nigerians for more support going into the return leg in Ethiopia.
“It was a good game and are happy to with the win, especially after the Super Cup loss to Lobi Stars.” He told brila.net
“We will want to thank the fans for believing in us and we still banking on their support and prayers to help us get the desired result in the return leg.”
Ranger will travel to Ethiopia for the reversed fixture in December with a win or draw needed to seal their passage to the next preliminary phase.
