3 children of same parents burnt in Anambra

Three children of same parents were Thursday burnt beyond recognition at Ugwuagba Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area, after two containers serving as their shop and living room caught fire. Sources told our reporter that the mother of the three children locked them inside the shop and went out when the incident happened.
Though the cause of the fire was unknown at the time of filing the report, sympathizers blamed the mother of the children for her carelessness in locking up the children inside the container, which had no window, and leaving to an unknown destination.

It was gathered that residents in the area, known as High Tension Road because of the transmission lines for Ugwuagba Power Station, were sacked earlier and buildings situated behind the transmission lines destroyed by federal authorities because of the dangers of power surge, but some residents still remained adamant.
Confirming the incident, the police public relations officer in the state, Haruna Muhammed, said the charred remains of the three children have been deposited in a morgue while investigation as to the cause of the fire has commenced.

“There was a report that two short containers used as shop and apartment along High Tension School Road, Ugwuagba-Obosi in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State, were gutted by fire. Consequently, the owner of the affected containers, Blessing Nwafor, female, who was not around at the time of the incident, reportedly left three of her children, namely Chimierie Nwafor, male, aged five years, Onyedika Nwafor, male, aged four years, and Esther Nwafor, female, aged three years, inside the container and they were all burnt beyond recognition.

“Police patrol team attached to Awada Division, led by the DPO, CSP Tony Adeyi, rushed to the scene, cordoned off the area and removed the charred remains of the victims to Bex Hospital mortuary for autopsy after they were certified dead by a medical doctor.
“Meanwhile, cause of the fire is not yet known but the case is under investigation to ascertain circumstances surrounding the incident,” he said.
