Super Eagles forward Henry Onyekuru is going into the season on a good note after helping his team to win a pre-season tournament.
Onyekuru tasted action regularly as Adana Demirspor won the Angelo Iervolino Trophy on Sunday, a tournament hosted in Italy.
The Turkish side played their first game against Reggina and won 1-0, before beating Salernitana 3-1 on Sunday.
Adana Demirspor’s goals were scored by Henry Onyekuru, Yusuf Sari and Britt Assombalonga and the victory was enough to hand them the trophy.
The Nigerian who joined the Turkish side on a one-year loan deal from Greek giants Olympiakos will be hoping to get his career back on track when the Super Lig season gets under way next week.
The team will be guest of Giresunspor in the first week of the Super League.
