Former Coach of Nigeria’s Senior national team Christian Chukwu has challenged home-based players to up their performance and walk their way to the heart of current national team handler Gernot Rohr who is to continue as coach of the Super Eagles after reaching an agreement in this regard.
Chukwu speaking in a chat with www.Cornerstonenewsng.comsaid the onus is on the home-based players to impress the coach and try to stake a claim for consideration to the Super Eagles team.
He added that he knows the Nigerian league is not bereaved of quality and that the coach should also not neglect the home-based players in his monitoring.
“My charge to them is that they are equal to the task, is it because they are not playing in Europe, they should up their games and Rohr will find out that yes we have players back home who can represent us with all the determination and it will cost us less and we will get the result.”
