Dilichukwu pleased with Falcons World Cup preparation

Former chairperson of the Women’s professional league and ex-board member of the NFF, Dilichukwu Onyedinma has expressed her satisfaction with the preparation of the Super Falcons ahead of the 2019 FIFA world cup in France, stating that it has always been what she has been clamoring for.

Only yesterday, the FIFA Women’s World Cup trophy made a stop-over in Nigeria on its tour of 24 countries qualified to participate at the championship in France, with former Eagles striker, Peter Odemwingie being part of the team.
The Falcons are currently camping in Spain ahead of the finals in the month of June, and speaking with www.brila.net, Dilichukwu added that she strongly believes that with the level of preparation from the Cyprus Invitational to the four-nation tourney and now Spain indicates that the team will do well in France.
“It a very good preparation because the players need to acclimatize very well.
“Feel the environment of outside counties so they know they know they are going for competition and NFF has done well this time”.
“They didn’t do it in their fire brigade way like before, after all, it’s female football”.
“This is the kind of preparation I have been clamoring for, and I believe the girls having prepared very well will deliver a great result”.
Meanwhile, the gold –plated trophy, nearly 5 kilograms in weight, was unveiled by Odemwingie, who featured in four Africa Cup of Nations finals for Nigeria and played at two FIFA World Cup finals.
Sarai Bareman (chief women’s football officer) who led the FIFA team, also revealed that six of the group phase matches at the 8th FIFA Women’s World Cup finals in France has been sold out, including that pitching Nigeria’s Super Falcons against France at the Roazhon Park in Rennes on 17th June.
