Akwa Starlets FC Head Coach, Caleb Esu has revealed the key behind his side’s victory over Warri Wolves in the Nigeria National League (NNL) playoff on Friday.
Starlets marched into the final of the playoff 3-1 on penalties, after a stalemate in regulation time, and Esu told Cornerstonenewsng.comthat it was all down to his players sticking with the game plan.
“Now that we have tested our new players with old ones in various friendlies and the huge task carried out today (Friday) against the hard fighting Warri Wolves, I think our fans should expect more from this team come next season,” the Coach explained.
“These guys played to instructions and it’s key to achieving better results.
“As far as Akwa Starlets is concerned in the forthcoming season of the NPFL, I strongly believe we would make it big. Also, we are good enough to win the NNL Super 4 competition this time as I have sent parking the only strongest opposition, Warri Wolves from the tournament.”
