Former Super Eagles defender, Sam Sodje has reacted to the news of the retirement of Captain Mikel Obi and forward Odion Ighalo a day after winning the losers finals in the ongoing African Cup of Nations.
Sodje told Cornerstonenewsng.comthat there is no player that cannot be replaced, however, the former premier league defender hailed both players for their contributions to the National team during their time.
”I don’t think any player is in replaceable, well we will miss them but at the same time, there is always an end to every football players’ career in the National team.”
‘There was a time Okocha was unplayable or untouchable, but when he left, the national team moved on, so I don’t think there is an irreplaceable player, we all played and retired at one time so, it’s all good.’ The former Reading defender concluded.
