The Lagos State Police command has arrested a suspected drug trafficker and recovered a large quantity of Indian hemp from him.
Recovered from the suspect, were 1,040 wraps of Indian hemp in 13 sacks and a truck used in conveying the drugs.
According to Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Benjamin Hundyin,” a 43-year-old man Nwagha Obiefule has been arrested in connection with the recovered illicit drugs.
” On April 17, 2024 at about 4: 30 am, while on early morning patrol around Ajangbadi , detectives of Tactical Squad, Ijanikin trailed one white Mercedes Benz mini truck to Ilufe Waterside Jetty in the Alaba area of the state.
” It was discovered that a large quantity of substance, suspected to be Indian Hemp in sacks were being offloaded from a flying boat at the waterside jetty in Alaba International.
” One Obiefuke Nwagha,43 was arrested at the waterside jetty.
” He was alleged to the driver of the white Mercedes Benz mini truck and a total of one thousand and forth wraps of substance, suspected to be Indian Hemp in thirteen sacks were recovered from the suspects.
“The suspect alleged that one Ifeanyi contacted him to convey the substance from Waterside jetty to Alaba International Market”.
Hundeyin stated that investigation had commenced and that efforts were on to arrest the said Ifeanyi.
