Rangers Chief Owumi urges NPFL clubs to take players Insurance seriously

Rangers International of Enugu Chairman Davidson Owumi has urged the management of all the NPFL clubs to prioritize and ensure the safety of its players. 

Owumi who reacted on how the management of Enugu Rangers managed the Insurance issue following the demise of their player Ifeanyi George who died in a car crash said it is the right thing to do.
In a chat with Cornerstonenewsng.comOwumi said clubs should learn to take the welfare of their players seriously.
“In Rangers, for the past three seasons, we pay an Insurance firm at the beginning of every season to make sure as they are traveling and playing, they have a backup plan for protection,” He told brila.net.
“I do not have the power to impose it on other club side and I believe that charity begins at home, also that players welfare must be uppermost in our minds as football administrators if we must develop Nigeria Football,” Mr. Owumi said.
He added that before any club is registered, they must get authentic premium insurance cover for every player, once that is done you will see that Nigeria Football as taken a lift,’
