Despite missing a penalty in Bordeaux’s 2-1 win against AS Monaco, Samuel Kalu still finished the Ligue Un clash as one of the best players on the pitch.
With scores tied at 1-1, the winger saw his penalty saved by Monaco’s 34-year-old goalie, Diego Benaglio.
But the Nigerian was spared the embarrassment of the missed spot kick when Guinea International, Francois Kamano turned up with his second of the evening.
The goal came in the lengthy additional time after the regulation period. The win also helps Bordeaux halt a two game losing streak in the league.
