Tim Howard, former Everton goalie, Retires

Former Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard, on Sunday, announced his retirement from football, bringing an end to a 21-year professional career.

Howard, who was teammates with former Nigerian players Yakubu Aiyegbeni, Joseph Yobo and Victor Anichebe, bid farewell in an MLS game last night.

The goalkeeper spent 10 years with The Toffees, enjoying the finest years of his career.

On what was supposed to be the 40 year-old’s night,  it was the dazzling performance from Carlos Vela that stole the show.

The LAFC captain became the top scorer of the 2019 campaign breaking Josef Martinez’s MLS single-season record by setting a new mark of 34 goals.

Howard played three World Cups – Germany 2006, South Africa 2010, and Brazil 2014 – with the USMNT. He won three Gold Cups and played in the 2009 Confederations Cup Final.
