The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a suspected armed robber who was fleeing from the crime scene of the crime.
The suspect, Wasiu was a member of a three-man gang that specialised in robbing victims in gridlocks at the early and late hours.
The gang used to rob people On Oshodi Apapa Express Road and Mile 2 /Badagry Expressway.
A police officer said that at about 5 am on November 5, a patrol team led by ASP Adejumo Makanju attached to the Illasamaja Police station intercepted a motorcycle with three passengers at mandellas junction Ilasamaja and on sighting the Police, two of the passengers jumped down and fled towards Cowbell way while the rider bolted away with the motorcycle.
He said the fleeing suspects were given a hot chase and one Adekunle was arrested and he was searched.
He said during the search, a locally made pistol and two android phones were recovered from.
He said the case was incident and referred to DCB while Sgt Afolabi Tajudeen was detailed to investigate.
The police officer said that preliminary investigation showed that the gang was responsible for the traffic robbery at Mile 2 and other areas that have been experiencing gridlocks.
He said the Divisional Officer in charge of the area, Titilayo Oriyomi has ordered intensive patrol of the area.
