Nigerian striker Mfon Udoh has hinged the failure of the CHAN Eagles team to progress on questionable officiating believing that the team did enough to score the goals needed to get the job done but were unfortunate with the officiating in the encounter.
Udoh speaking in a chat with brila.net said it was indeed painful and disappointing to have missed out on the chance to play at the 2020 CHAN in Cameroon and feels strongly that the tournament will miss Nigeria as well.
“It was a goal, I think the referee wasn’t fair and lenient enough. It’s bad for us as players, it’s bad for us as a country. It’s very disappointing that Nigeria will not be featuring at the CHAN in 2020. I think Nigeria is the eye of the CHAN honestly and very disappointing that we didn’t make it. I don’t know if CHAN is going to be fun.”
