2018/2019 NWPL Season set to Kick-Off

The 2018/2019 season of the Nigeria Women Premier League(NPWL) is set to kick-off Wednesday, 24th of July 2019, with matches to be played across various parts of the country.
Matchday one of the NWPLwill feature Confluence Queens Football Club doing battle against Ibom Angels Football Club.
According to the organizers of the league, the league competition will be played as an abridged version. As such, there will be four groups divided to accommodate four clubs each.
The leaders of each group will then qualify for the Super Four tournament for which the eventual league winner will be announced.
The group are as follows;
Group A
Rivers Angels
Fc Robo
Osun Babes
Delta Queens
Group B
Dream Stars Ladies
Edo Queens
Heartland Queens
Adamawa Queens
Group C
Bayelsa Queens
Kaduna Queens
Sunshine Queens
Nasarawa Amazon hi
Group D
Confluence Queens
Ibom Angels
Abia Angels
Invincible Angels
Bayelsa Queens who are the current league Champions for the 2017/2018 league season will be expected to top their group C table as they are among the favourites to win the league.
