Home-based Eagles goalkeeper Adamu Abubakar has downplayed Nigeria’s 4-1 defeat to Togo stressing that this team has seen bad result on the road and have in the past managed to turn things around.
Abubakar speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said the CHAN Eagles can still very well qualify and are good enough to score as many as three goals and more having done so in the past at the U23 level with a number of the U23 team still forming the nucleus of the present team.
“I believe we can still qualify because Libya beat us 2-0 and we came back to Nigeria to beat them despite everybody saying we can’t beat them. Sudan beat us 1-0 a d we still beat them to qualify. I believe everything will be okay, no problem. We can win well more than 3 self and beat them.”
