National Table Tennis coach Nosir Bello has stated that the dominance of Egyptian trio of Omar Assad, Ahmed Saleh and women champion Dina Meshref is no threat to Nigeria’s medal chances at the table tennis event of the fast-approaching All Africa games in Morocco stating clearly that Nigeria have always gotten the upper hand against the Egyptians at the Africa games.
Bello speaking in a chat with Cornerstonenewsng.comsaid the Nigerian table tennis players have proven to be better in team competition, unlike their Egyptian counterparts who perhaps have individual showing but not a better team to Nigeria. He argued that Nigeria has even shown more progress in the competition beyond Africa.
“For the women, our girls are just coming up, we have other home-based players among them and they are meeting the Egyptians for the first time which was why they couldn’t compete but I believe when we get to Morocco, lot of changes will occur. “
“For the men team, I don’t think we have any threat from Egypt. That’s how we have been playing g it and we have had upper hand against them at the games and another international team event. When you see them in ream game, you will know that the team is different from the individual.”
