Former NCF VP Anosike urge Nigerians to embrace Cricket and see beyond football

Former Vice President of the Nigeria Cricket Federation and current Chairman of the Anambra State Cricket Association Barrister Chuma Anosike has urged Nigerians to embrace Cricket and see beyond football in order to spread the development of sports in Nigeria.

Anosike speaking in a chat with brila.net said the pool of young talent in Nigeria is one that should be tapped into to create opportunities for some young skilled individuals excel in order sports rather than queue on the football path citing examples of the opportunity the young U19 team had with the International Cricket Council world cup last month in South Africa.
“Football is high, I have always been a passionate football fan and I’m sure the rest of us are but I have always believed with 200 million people, every body cannot be a footballer and we have a lot of young people so there is a pool of talent beyond even Cricket others which they call lesser sports I will encourage people to develop their talents in those areas and Cricket now is a path to a career.”
