“I was involved with the wrong people”- Lokosa on his failed move to Europe

Esperance of Tunisia striker Junior Lokosa said he hasn’t given up on his dream of having a taste of European football before he ends his career.

Lokosa started his career with Amateur side First Bank FC, before moving to Kano Pillars in May 2017, where he scored five goals in 14 league games.

The 26-year-old became the biggest name in the Nigerian professional football league in the 2018 season, after scoring 14 goals in 15 matches for the Sai Masu Gida midway into the season.

The good form earned him a trip to Bulgarian club Ludogorets, and Norwegian club Brann, he also had unsuccessful trials in China, before he joined Espérance Sportive de Tunis signing a two-and-a-half-year contract.

While reflecting on his failed trips to Europe, Lokosa said he was involved with wrong people who put themselves before his career.

“Well am looking forward to playing in Europe soon, whatever happens in that period of me going in Bulgaria and Norway was unfortunate.”

“I was involved with wrong people because before I moved and was told I’m going to do a medical and sign, but getting there, it became a different ball game, they were selfish and started talking about money.”

” I don’t like talking about that period, because I believe everything happened for a reason, it’s not my kind of player that should go for trial, but in my case, that’s not what they told me before I left the country.” He told www.brila.net.

Lokosa made his international debut for Nigeria on 28 May 2018 in a friendly against DR Congo following his impressive form with Kano Pillars.

He was also named in the 30-man provisional squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia but failed to make Gernot Rohr’s final 23 man squad for the Mundial.
