I’m Looking Forward To Meet My New Teammates – Mikel

Former Nigerian international and Skipper John Mikel Obi said he is eager to join his new Turkish club Trabzonspor.

Mikel, who led Nigeria to third place finish in just concluded 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt, signed for the Turkish Super Lig side after ending his six months spell with English championship side Middlesbrough.

However the former Chelsea defensive midfielder is currently on a two weeks break after the AFCON, and will join up with his comparatriots Anthony Nwakaeme and Eddie Onazi to help the club compete in the domestic scene and the 2019/20 UEFA Europa League.

“Looking forward to join my new football family soon,” the 32-year-old wrote beneath a picture he posted on Instagram.

Mikel made a total of 89 appearances and scored six goals for Nigeria and played for Chelsea, Middlesbrough, Lyn Oslo and Tianjin TEDA.
