Kenneth Omeruo reiterates desire to remain in La Liga

Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Josiah Omeruo has once again expressed his desire to remain in the Spanish La Liga come next season, after a stellar performance last season for RCD Leganes.

Omeruo’s performance led to him being called up to the Super Eagles for the AFCON in Egypt, where he helped Nigeria to claim bronze at the tournament.

Speaking with www.brila.net, Omeruo revealed what led to him going to Leganes last season while hoping that his parent club agrees with the Spanish side to make his move a permanent one before the start of the new season.

“When I made the decision to come to Spain, it was to test myself because I had people say that am playing in Turkey which is not high level or a top league, so when the opportunity came to go to Spain, I knew it might be difficult to get into the team, but I also knew I had what it takes and I had what it takes to face the best players in the world”.

“I love La Liga because it compliments me. I think it’s the best league for me and would love to continue in Spain but Chelsea have the final say. They have to reach an agreement. Hopefully, it happens, but if not, we see what happens”.
