Ahead of tomorrow’s must-win encounter against South Korea at the ongoing FIFA women’s world cup, France 2019, Super Falcons striker, Asisat Oshoala has voiced her belief in the team bouncing back against tomorrow’s opponents in Grenoble.
The Super Falcons have fully settled into their Mercure Grenoble Centre President Hotel in the city of Grenoble, ahead of Wednesday’s make-or-break FIFA Women’s World Cup clash with the Korea Republic.
Speaking with www.Cornerstonenewsng.comahead of tomorrow’s encounter, Asisat explained what she believed led to the loss against the Scandinavians over the weekend, while expecting a very tactical Korean side against the Falcons in their second match, adding that they are no pushovers.
“Basically it was just three errors from my team, the goals that we conceded were not anything tactical from Norway, just mere errors from us and at the end, we were punished by our mistakes”.
“Sometimes I just believe that there is a lot of power in goals when the other team gets the goals, it demoralizes the other team and I believe that’s what happened”.
The FC Barcelona Femini striker is also hoping her and her teammates can start the match against Korea like the second half against Norway which was better than the first.
“In the second half, we were a lot better we kept the ball more and created more chances but it was just too late as we already conceded three goals”.
“The game against Norway is past now, we have to think of how we will play against South Korea. They are a good team as well, tactically sound. We get back to our drawing board. We have two more games in our group so we still have a chance to qualify”.
